From the POV of your character(s) write the two lists. What I will miss and What I will not miss.
- Broaden the list, surprise the reader, show us the little details and the big picture in the same list.
- Show off the character’s attitudes.
- You can do both lists for one character.
- You can alternate the lists for two or more characters.
- It can be a journal entry, it can be in dialogue or part of the narration in 1st or 3rd person (or if you dare 2nd person).
- You can also write a poem, a picture book or a memoir entry. Get creative!
